Recipes 7-8

Stir-fry shrimp with pork
Serves 3-4 people

Ingredients:
½ garlic clove
Pork
Shrimp
1 tablespoon Canola oil
½ teaspoon black soy sauce
Monosodium Glutamate
1 teaspoon sugar
1 ½ tablespoon fish sauce
5-6 teaspoons water

Directions:
1. First, peel and chop the garlic into small pieces.
2. Next, cut the pork into thin slices.
3. Rinse and peel the shells off of the shrimps.
4. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and the garlic to the pan (stove on high) and mix it around for a few seconds.
5. When that is done, add the pork and shrimps into the pan to cook.
6. While it is cooking, add ½ teaspoon of black soy sauce, a small pinch of monosodium glutamate, the sugar, fish sauce, and the water.
7. Continue to stir and cook the meat and then pour the sauce or liquid from it into a plate.
8. Keep cooking the meat until it is done, and pour it out onto a plate. Now, it is ready to serve.


White yam and shrimp soup
Serves 3-4 people

Ingredients:
2 large shrimps
1 white yam
4 cups water
1 1/2 tablespoons fish sauce
Monosodium Glutamate
Pepper
Ngo-om (type of herb)

Directions:
1. Wash and peel the shells off the shrimps. Cut it down the middle when you are done to remove bad shrimp substances.
2. Then, chop the shrimp with a little bit of garlic until they are broken down into small pieces.
3. Wash and peel the white yam’s skin.
4. Next, mash up the white yam into a paste or scrape it with a spoon into a paste.
5. Boil 3 cups water and then add the yam paste into the water
6. Lower the stove to medium while you stir in the fish sauce, a pinch of Monosodium Glutamate, a sprinkle of pepper, and the shrimp mix.
7. Stir the soup and see if it is thick. If it is, add 1/2 – 1 cup of water to the soup.
8. Finally, continue to cook it until it is done and then pour it into a bowl. Add some pepper and Ngo-om to it and it is ready to serve.
